GlamourThe Bachelorette is the new celebrity Tinder, it seems. On the heels of Gigi Hadid and Tyler Cameron’s burgeoning relationship, there are rumors that Demi Lovato and another Bachelorette star, Mike Johnson, are dating.
It makes sense why this is becoming a trend: Viewers get to see these contestants go on dates and, from there, can imagine how they might be in a relationship. And if you’re super famous person, like Demi Lovato, you can probably easily slide into their DMs and get a response.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s reportedly going on between Lovato and Johnson.
July 2019: Lovato proved herself to be one diehard Bachelorette fangirl—for a certain contestant, anyway. She posted an Instagram Story showing footage of Johnson on the show with the caption “Mike I accept your rose.” Per People, she could be heard saying “Swing me, kiss me! Boo boo,” referring to Johnson, naturally.
On July 2, after he was eliminated, Johnson wrote on Twitter, “Jus saying, my future wife though girl you ready for smiles, adventure, comfort, growth, honesty, laughter, me falling using my inhaler and kissing your stretch marks and imperfections. Where u hiding.”
Safe to say, Lovato was not hiding. A fan posted a ‘gram showing his tweet plus another fan’s that read “it’s your chance demi,” and Lovato was there for it. “I’M RIGHT HERE MIKE I’M RIGHT HERE BOO MY MOM ALREADY LOVES YOU TOO,” she wrote. Yes to being bold about those feelings!
September 5: Lovato posted a gorgeous unedited bikini pic to Instagram that was accompanied by a caption about self-love and getting over body hang-ups. Johnson was absolutely there for it, writing “Look at me like that again…love yaself.”
September 14: An “insider” (take it for what you will!) told E! that the two “did go on a date, and it’s been going well. They seem to have a lot in common and are just enjoying getting to know each other.”
