WATCH: Fox’s Ed Henry makes emotional return to network after donating portion of his liver to his sister

WashingtonexaminerFox News host Ed Henry made his first appearance from the Fox studio in New York since donating 30% of his liver to his sister, Colleen.

Henry, 48, appeared on Fox & Friends, a show he often hosts, on Friday and shared the details of his efforts to save his sister from a chronic liver disease that threatened her life. Henry spoke to a studio audience that consisted entirely of New York firefighters there to honor the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks.

“I did that for my sister, who I love,” Henry said to the firefighters. “That’s easy, I think. What you do every single day, helping people who you may not even know. The amount of people who rushed into those buildings on 9/11, Stephen Siller and everyone else — they didn’t know people who they wanted to save.”

Henry held back tears through the entirety of his comments and shared stories about friends that he lost on 9/11. He also provided an update on his sister, Colleen, who is still recovering from the transplant.

“She’s had more bumps than me,” he said. “Receiving the donation, it takes more time, it’s harder.”

The Fox personality also shared anecdotes about Fox colleagues Sean Hannity and Pete Hegseth, who had been supportive of Henry through his surgery and recovery.

“He punched me,” Henry said of Hannity. “But he did not hit my incision. I’m fine, I lived … I was Hannit-ized!”

Henry is slated to immediately return to his normal weekend hosting duties on Fox & Friends.
